Dear Friends,

It pains us to announce that as 2007 nears its end, so the first edition of Good 50×70 draws to a close. It’s difficult for us to let go of something that all of us, you included, have worked so hard on over the last 12 months, but we’re proud of what we’ve done. We more than surpassed all our expectations of what Good 50×70 could achieve, and all the lessons we’ve learnt along the way will help us make next year’s edition even stronger.

Good 50×70 2008 won’t be a simple copy of what we did this year. As the world and technology has moved forward in the last year, we want Good 50×70 to evolve as a competition to reflect and meet these challanges. The only thing which will remain the same is our belief in promoting creativity in areas and media that can make a positive difference in the world.

We hope you’ll be on board for what promises to be a very exciting year.

Good 50×70 merits recognized by Aretê award

After many exhibitions around Italy and abroad, on November the 5th, 2007 Good 50×70 is invited to the Chamber of Deputies in Palazzo Marini, Rome to be the recipient of the prestigious Aretê award for the best Social Communication project for the year 2007.

The Minister for Communications M.P. Paolo Gentiloni bestowed this honour on the Good 50×70 team with FIC (Italian Federation for Communication) and Social Advertising Foundation Chairman Alberto Contri and with Science of Communication department head at “La Sapienza” University in Rome Mario Morcellini.

We’re quite proud to say that Good 50×70 managed to outrun in terms of votes much more well known names in the social communication field. In the jury’s own words, the reason for it is “the viral effectiveness and the expressive power of the project, which pursues the aim of a real “responsible” communication and involves young designers in a concrete way”.

It’s not enough to say that we’re pleased by this news. We’re particularly pleased to see that it’s our independent nature that got more in the eye of institutions, which is something we consider an evidence of the mindshift that is happening in the whole communication industry.

The next year edition is already under construction and our exhibition tour keeps going on. After Milan, Istanbul, Terni, Palermo, Matera and Potenza, we’ll hope to see you in Foggia, Naples and Lecce.

Catalogues auction

The Good 50×70 catalogue is now available to buy on eBay. The bidding will start at 15 euros for each copy, or you can choose to buy it now for 25 euros. The catalogue, a limited edition of 1000, contains all the 200 posters exhibited at La Triennale and comments and opinions from the members of the jury.
The auction will start on Thursday the 1st and finish on Wednesday the 7th of November.

Good 50×70 on tour

Right now, as you may already know, the exhibition is now on display at the Istanbul design week until the 10th of September. Apparently the Good 50×70 exhibition is one of the most popular attractions at the fair, which is a large compliment to the standard of the work.

More exhibitions are in the pipeline with two set-ups during the graphic design biennial “Attraversamenti” in Terni, Italy and more exhibitions, workshops and seminars in other Italian cities like Potenza (25 October to 9 November), Matera (5 to 9 October) both during the “Progetto Energia” initiative and Palermo, during the Palermo design week (16 to 21 October).

Who knows where will be next?

Good 50×70 goes to Istanbul

We’re very proud to announce that Good 50×70 has been invited to exhibit at the second edition of the Istanbul Design Week. All the 200 posters which were selected to be displayed at Triennale gallery in Milan will be shown again at the Galata Bridge in Istanbul for the duration of the event, from the 4th to the 10th September 2007. More coverage and hopefully some pictures of the exhibition set up will follow.

Finally, please check our poster auction on eBay, which will end on September the 6th. We’re auctioning all of the posters that were displayed at Triennale in Milan to raise funds to sustain our project in the future. Most of them are still available, click here to find them.

Good 50×70 Exhibition Opened in Milan

The Good 50×70 exhibition officially opened at La Triennale, Milan on Tuesday. You will be able to see photos of the opening and videos of the seminar on social communication and its role in graphic design soon.

The turnout was even better than we’d hoped for, and amongst the guests were Dalia Gallico, Lodovico Gualzetti, Armando Milani and Massimo Pitis.

The exhibition runs until the 24th of June, you’re more than welcome to come.
