AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL is an NGO created
for and developed around international
recognition of human rights. Founded in the UK
in the 1961, it has almost two million members,
supporters and subscribers in more than
150 countries around the world.
AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL fights to protect
physical and mental integrity, freedom of thought
and speech, and aims to stop every kind
of discrimination. Its main activities include
offering solidarity to victims of human rights
violations, research activities, trial assistance
and meetings with local authorities and institutions
for the defence of human rights.
At present AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL
is tackling two international campaigns to put
an end to violence against women and to fight
gun trafficking.
