EMERGENCY is an independent, neutral
and non-political organization, founded to provide
assistance to the civilian victims of war
and landmines. It provides free, high quality,
medical and surgical support in war zones,
and promotes a culture of solidarity, peace
and respect for human rights.

All EMERGENCY facilities are built and run
by international personnel who train local staff
thoroughly, with the goal of eventually making
the area self-sustainable.

Since 1994 EMERGENCY’s teams have provided
assistance to over 2.3 million people
in the organization’s 8 hospitals, 4 rehabilitation
centres, 1 maternity center and 54 first aid posts
and health care centres all around the world.

EMERGENCY is currently active in Afghanistan,
Cambodia, Iraq, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka
and Sudan.
