Good 50×70’s exhibition is now on display in Holon, Israel.

Holon is an up and coming city next to Tel Aviv, currently busy making design part of its offering. To this purpose they asked Ron Arad to build them a wonderful Design Museum that will be ready in January, but more importantly they decided to host Good50×70’s posters in the city.
Nice move!

For this event, the Design Museum not beig ready yet, we had to settle with Beit Meirov gallery – just kidding, we were really happy of the set up and the location. We had a great opening there, hosted by our friend Yossi Lemel.

If you’re from Tel Aviv please don’t be lazy and make the effort and go and see the posters, they’re going to stay there until the 16th of January.
For all the others, you can check some pictures on our Flickr gallery.

After a year’s work, we’re very, very proud to let you know that GoodAmsterdam is finally go!

We had the official launch at the Pakhuis de Zwijger on September 30th (picture above) and as you can see from the picture below, the posters are now in the streets of Amsterdam.

The launch was a very special evening which had three highlights: the unveiling of the 15 final posters for GoodAmsterdam (including the 3 for the Poezenboot that you can see above); the world premiere of the G00d50×70 catalogue for 2009; and a live design battle to produce a poster for the Leger des Heils (the Salvation Army).

You can see some photos of the evening on our flickr stream here.

4 of the posters are now in the streets of Amsterdam (thanks to Bizon Print and Bizon Buitenreclame), while all 15 will be exhibited around the city and have been collected in a special edition of Z magazine (the homeless magazine) dedicated to GoodAmsterdam.

You can follow our progress via the GoodAmsterdam website and our flickr stream.

Thanks to everybody who made this happen – and if you’re in Amsterdam, buy Z and look out for the posters. And even more importantly, support our charities!

Today we launch our new initiative, Poster4Tomorrow. It’s an open competition inviting the global creative community to create posters to draw attention to, and take action against, the repression of freedom
of expression. It’s organized by us (Associazione Culturale GoodDesign) together with HM Studio and 4tomorrow.

Freedom of creative expression is something that we feel very strongly about, and we think it’s worth everyone’s time to ponder how different the world would be if we couldn’t communicate freely through design, or any other media.

So when we were approached by Hervé Matine, an Iranian designer, about a possible collaboration, we had no hesitation in agreeing. We see Poster4Tomorrow as a natural development from Good50×70 and it’s something that we’re very proud to be involved with.

Poster4Tomorrow is now open for entries until November the 15th. You can find out more about the project and download the brief at http://www.poster4tomorrow.org/.

This year we’re doing our catalogue slightly differently with a special edition that will directly help some of our endorsing charities. And us. For once, everyone wins. When you buy you the catalogue (more about that later) you can choose to either receive a tshirt (proceeds go to Good 50×70) or make a donation directly to one of charities (you choose which one). Both ‘versions’ of the catalogue cost the same, though you won’t get a tshirt if you choose to donate to our charities, just a healthy dose of moral satisfaction.

This special edition of the catalogue is a ‘memento’ of the exhibition rather the book we’ve had in previous years. That’s because, for the first time, Bis Publisher will be publishing and distributing our catalogue worldwide later this year, which we’re very excited about.

You can buy the catalogue here now.

This year we tried to do things on a slightly bigger scale by putting together a week of workshops and the exhibition opening ceremony.

For those of you who haven’t noticed it – or those who simply weren’t able to come to Milan to enjoy all of this – we’ve posted a lot of pictures on Flickr and quite a few videos on Vimeo.

We were really pleased with the outcome of the workshops and the exhibition opening – despite the rain treath the Triennale was as filled as ever with visitors.

We’d like to thank everyone who came to visit us, especially who took the effort to come from far away places to see their work displayed.

The exhibition is still open until the 12th of July in Milan. After that, we’ll once again hit the road for our tour.
