Santiago Pol

BORN IN BARCELONA IN 1946. STUDIED AT THE ESCUELA
DE ARTES PLASTICAS “CRISTOBAL ROJAS”, CARACAS AND
AT THE ECOLE NATIONALE SUPERIORE DES BEAUX-ARTS, PARIS.

He’s a member of prestigious associations like AGI and ICOGRADA
and of the world’s most renowned poster biennials as the ones
in Mexico City; Lahti, Finland and Brno, Czech Republic.

Mr. Pol’s work has been exhibited throughout the world,
as at the Louvre’s Poster Museum, 51st Venice Biennial
and at the poster biennials of Toyama, Japan; Taiwan and Warsaw.

Mr. Pol has been awarded with numerous international awards
including the 1982 Documentary Festival of Leipzig Gold Medal,
and the 1992 and 1993 Art Directors Club of New York Merit Award. 

Mr. Pol’s most prestigious projects include the redesign
of the Venezuelan post stamp in 1978; the map of Caracas underground
train in 1982 and the design of a poster for Bejing Olympics in 2008.

His work is in the permanent collections in museums as New York’s
MOMA, the Museo Für Gestaltung in Zurich and the National Library
in Washington.
